Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Girl Power

To create this fun card I  first stamped the image on white 110lb cover stock paper. After I had colored in the image - see Copic color guide below - I stamped the same image on Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper cut out the girl as closely as possible. It's okay to leave a little extra for the legs since they are very narrow and it is difficult to cut out.

After covering my colored image with the Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper I used a Tim Holtz stencil called "Mesh THS041" and stamped using the Fired Brick - Red Distress ink pad. I then removed the stencil and lightly stamped around the image to soften the sharpness and cover some of the white. I then removed the Inkadinkado Masking paper.

To create the star cutout I first created a black star outline using 2 medium star nesting dies. I used a larger star die set to cut the background for the image. In order to not cut the entire image and black outline piece I used only a portion of the cutting plates on my BigShot die cutting machine. By over hanging the image in between the sandwich it will only cut where there is pressure on the die. I suggest taping the die to the paper so it won't move using a piece of your least favorite washi tape, since it can easily be removed without damaging the image.

I created a black border by using rectangle dies. I layered a "Happy Birthday" die slightly askew  to create a white shadow effect.

I used foam tape to add dimension to the black border and the star/image piece.

Although difficult to see in the photos I finished up the card by using Clear Wink of Stella to outline the image in glimmering sparkle. I took as best a photo as I could as reference.

Cycling Bear Summer scene

This cutie is one of my favorite cards that I've made. The colors pop off the white dot embossed card stock and I was fortunate enough to have found a great cloud patterned paper to add a special touch. The stamp and die set I utilized was from Ali Express. I used a square die in order to make the window. Foam squares pop up the die cut pieces for added dimension and visual interest. While most of my cards are rectangle for this one I made a square card that was 5 x 5.

Photoplay Oh Canada

Having enjoyed crafting and creating for many years I've been wanting to try creating a blog so that I could share my craft with others. I love to share ideas and get ideas from fellow crafters.  Although I may not be the best at creative writing I've decided to try and give it a whirl. I hope I can share my passion with you for years to come.

Today i'm sharing with you a card I created as part of the Scrap of Paradise design team using the Photoplay Oh Canada line and stamp set. I colored the moose using Copic markers then fussy cut him out. I use 110lb weight card stock for most of my stamped images as they hold up better. For this moose I also colored the edges of the white cardstock black for a better finish as the white stood out too much. I used a vellum sentiment by core'dinations called Vellum Quotes and Titles Celebrate pack which has 60 different vellum sheets. I placed the vellum in the window which I raised slightly using foam squares over the Canada leaf patterned paper giving the Canada leaves a softer look. To create the window I used the We R memory keepers frame punch board.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Santa Paws

Today I would like to share a card I made using the "Santa paws" stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. This stamp had been meant for a Christmas card or scrapbooking layout however I had chosen a yellow and black theme rather so I could use this card as a birthday or "just to say hi" card.  For the "Lovely" I used a die from Heidi Swapp. To create the thick chipboard look and feel I die cut black coverstock 5 times and used adhesive to layer the cuts. To color the stamped image I used my trusty Copic markers and finished off with Tim Holtz distress ink to create a floor.
